LinknLink App can provide remote control for supported Home Assistant devices after LinknLink Remote is installed and configured. The initial Home Assistant service setup requires your phone and Home Assistant to be on the same local network. After LinknLink Remote is configured, test the same device on local Wi-Fi and then over mobile data such as 4G or 5G.
Add LinknLink Remote Add-on to Home Assistant
Complete the following steps in Home Assistant.

Step 1: Check the Home Assistant OS version
Log in to Home Assistant and go to Settings → About to check that Home Assistant is using the OS version.
Step 2: Ensure Home Assistant has controllable devices
Make sure your Home Assistant includes devices that can be controlled, such as smart plugs and smart lights.
Step 3: Open Apps
Go to Settings → Apps. In the latest Home Assistant versions, the Add-on area has moved here and has been renamed Apps.
Step 4: Click Install App
Click Install App.
Step 5: Open Repositories
Open Repositories.
Step 6: Add a repository
Click Add.
Step 7: Add the LinknLink Remote repository
Enter https://github.com/linknlink/linknlink-remote in the text box, then click Add.
Step 8: Confirm the repository
When the repository is added successfully, click the back arrow to return to the App Store.
Step 9: Search for linknlink-remote
Enter linknlink-remote in the search box and select the linknlink-remote result.
Step 10: Install LinknLink Remote
Click Install and wait for the installation to complete.
Step 11: Open Configuration
After installation, click Configuration. Enter the LinknLink platform credentials as shown in the configuration screen and click Save.
Step 12: Start LinknLink Remote
Go to Info, click Start, and start LinknLink Remote. A Running status means that the add-on startup was successful.

Download the latest LinknLink App, register an account, and log in. If you already have an account, you can skip registration.

Connect LinknLink App with Home Assistant
Step 1: Open Home Assistant in LinknLink App
In LinknLink App, go to Profile → Home Assistant.
Step 2: Add the HA service
Click Add HA service.
Step 3: Enter the HA information
Enter the relevant HA information, then click the link to automatically open the browser and obtain the token.
Step 4: Create a token
On the browser page, click Create token to create the token.
Step 5: Copy the token
Click Copy to copy the token to the clipboard, then click Close to close the page and return to LinknLink App.
Step 6: Save the User Token
Paste the token into the User Token text box and save it.
Step 7: Add an HA device
After the HA service is added, click Add Device to add an HA device to the app for testing.
Step 8: Select the device
Select the device you want to add and click Add Device.
Step 9: Confirm the device
Click OK to confirm.
Step 10: Test the added device
The HA device is now added to LinknLink App and can be tested for control.
Enable LinknLink Remote in LinknLink App
Step 1: Open LinknLink Remote settings
In LinknLink App, go to Profile → Setting, then select LinknLink Remote.
Step 2: Enable LinknLink Remote
Turn on Enable LinknLink Remote, then select Remote HA host.
Step 3: Select the added HA service
Select the HA service that you added earlier.
Step 4: Save the settings
Click Save to save the settings.
Step 5: Confirm the Remote status
A green Remote indicator in the upper-right corner means that the remote-control configuration has been saved in LinknLink App. Click Enter device list to open the device list and select a device for testing.
Troubleshooting / Notes
Use these checks to review the setup in the same order as the guide:
- If the Running status does not appear, review the LinknLink Remote installation and Configuration steps in Home Assistant.
- If you cannot add the HA service, confirm that your phone and Home Assistant are on the same local network during the initial setup.
- If the token is not accepted, repeat the Create token and Copy steps, then paste it into the User Token field and save it.
- If an HA device does not respond, confirm that it was added in LinknLink App, reselect it from the device list, and test it on local Wi-Fi first.
- If no Remote HA host is selected, return to LinknLink Remote settings and select the intended host.
- If the green Remote indicator does not appear, check Enable LinknLink Remote, Remote HA host, the selected HA service, and Save.
- If local Wi-Fi control works but the 4G/5G test does not, review the Remote configuration and repeat the mobile-data test with the same selected device.
Test Remote Control on Local Wi-Fi and Mobile Data
Use the same selected device for both checks so you can distinguish local setup from remote configuration.
- Keep your phone connected to the same local Wi-Fi network as Home Assistant.
- Open the device list in LinknLink App and select the device you added.
- Test a simple control action, such as turning a lamp on or off.
- Turn off phone Wi-Fi while leaving the Home Assistant system connected to its network.
- Keep the same device selected and repeat the control action over 4G or 5G mobile data.
- Use the setup checks above if the local and mobile-data results differ.
The source tutorial uses a lamp as the example device. Device availability and control behavior depend on the device added to your Home Assistant service.
