Overview
This setup guide explains how to install LinknLink Remote in Home Assistant, add the Home Assistant service in LinknLink App, enable LinknLink Remote, and test remote control.
Before You Start
- Confirm that Home Assistant is using the OS version in Settings → About.
- Make sure Home Assistant has controllable devices, such as smart sockets and smart lights.
- When adding the HA service, connect the phone's Wi-Fi and Home Assistant to the same local network.
- Download LinknLink App from https://app.linklinkiot.com/app/download.html, then register and log in. If you already have an account, skip registration.
Setup Steps
1. Install LinknLink Remote in Home Assistant
Complete the following steps in Home Assistant.
1. Check the Home Assistant OS version
Log in to Home Assistant and go to Settings → About to verify that Home Assistant is using the OS version.

2. Ensure Home Assistant has controllable devices
Make sure Home Assistant includes devices that can be controlled, such as smart sockets and smart lights.

3. Open Apps
Go to Settings → Apps. In the latest Home Assistant version, the Add-on area has moved here and has been renamed Apps.

4. Click Install App
Click Install App.

5. Open Repositories
Follow the sequence shown in the figure to open Repositories.

6. Add a repository
Click + Add.

7. Add the LinknLink Remote repository
Enter https://github.com/linknlink/linknlink-remote in the text box, then click Add.

8. Confirm the repository
When the LinknLink Remote repository has been added successfully, click the back arrow to return to the App Store.

9. Search for linknlink-remote
Enter linknlink-remote in the search box and select the linknlink-remote result.

10. Install LinknLink Remote
Click Install and wait for the installation to complete.

11. Open Configuration
After installation, click Configuration. Enter the LinknLink platform credentials as shown in the configuration screen and click Save.


12. Start LinknLink Remote
Go to Info, click Start, and start LinknLink Remote. A Running status means that startup was successful.


2. Add Home Assistant Service in LinknLink App
In LinknLink App, go to Profile → Home Assistant. Keep the phone's Wi-Fi and the Home Assistant network on the same local network while adding the service.
1. Open Home Assistant in LinknLink App
In LinknLink App, open Profile → Home Assistant.


2. Add the HA service
Click Add HA service.
3. Enter the HA information
Enter the relevant Home Assistant information, then click the link to automatically open the browser and obtain the token.


4. Create a token
On the browser page, click Create token to create the token.
5. Copy the token
Click Copy to copy the token to the clipboard, then click Close to close the page and return to LinknLink App.


6. Save the User Token
Paste the token into the User Token text box and save it.
7. Add an HA device
After the HA service is added, click Add Device to add an HA device to the app for testing.


8. Select the device
Select the device you want to add and click Add Device.

9. Confirm the device
Click OK to confirm.

10. Test the added device
The Home Assistant device is now added to LinknLink App and can be tested for control.
3. Enable LinknLink Remote
1. Open LinknLink Remote settings
In LinknLink App, go to Profile → Setting, then select LinknLink Remote.


2. Enable LinknLink Remote
Turn on Enable LinknLink Remote, then select Remote HA host.


3. Select the added HA service
Select the HA service added earlier.

4. Save the settings
Click Save to save the settings.

5. Confirm the Remote status
A green Remote indicator in the upper-right corner means that the free HA remote control service has been configured successfully. Click Enter device list to open the device list and select a device for testing.
4. Test Remote Control (Local / 4G / 5G)
Select an HA device and test its control. The source test controls a lamp both while connected to local Wi-Fi and while Wi-Fi is turned off and the phone uses mobile data such as 4G or 5G.


Troubleshooting
LinknLink Remote does not show Running
Review the installation and Configuration steps, then check the LinknLink Remote status again.
The HA service cannot be added
Confirm that the phone's Wi-Fi and the Home Assistant network are on the same local network.
The device cannot be tested
Confirm that the HA device has been added to LinknLink App, then select the device from the device list and test its control.
FAQ
What does the Running status mean?
A Running status means that LinknLink Remote started successfully.
Can remote control be tested with mobile data?
The source test uses local Wi-Fi and mobile data such as 4G or 5G after Wi-Fi is turned off.
