Native Home Assistant Support: Seamless Integration via Standard MQTT

Embracing the Open Ecosystem

At LinknLink, we believe a true smart home should be private, fast, and open. Too many devices on the market today force users to rely on unstable cloud connections or require complex, "hacky" workarounds just to get basic data into their dashboards.

We listened to the community, and we made a choice: We are going native.

We are proud to announce that LinknLink devices now support Home Assistant via standard MQTT protocol. There is no need for proprietary hubs, no need for cloud dependency, and best of all—no need for complex third-party add-ons.

Why Standard MQTT?

MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) is the gold standard for local IoT communication. By implementing standard MQTT directly into our firmware, we offer Home Assistant users three distinct advantages:

  • 1. Zero Add-ons Required: You don’t need to search HACS (Home Assistant Community Store) or install maintenance-heavy custom integrations. As long as you have an MQTT broker running, our devices speak the language natively.
  • 2. 100% Local Control: Your data stays in your home. Our implementation allows your automations to run with millisecond latency, even if your internet connection goes down. This is crucial for presence detection, where every second counts.
  • 3. Auto-Discovery: We value your time. Once you configure the MQTT settings in the LinknLink App, your devices—and all their entities—will automatically appear in Home Assistant. No YAML configuration is required.

Supported Devices

Currently, the following devices support this seamless integration:

  • Presence Sensors: eMotion, eMotion Max, eMotion Pro, eMotion Ultra. (Syncs presence status, illuminance, and distance parameters).
  • Environmental Sensors: eTHS Series. (Syncs precise temperature and humidity data).
  • IR Universal Remotes: eRemote Series.
    • Unique Feature: When you add a virtual remote (e.g., for your TV or AC) in the LinknLink App, all those virtual buttons are automatically synced to Home Assistant as usable entities.
