HomeClaw Quick Start Guide

Use this guide to review HomeClaw specifications, set up the device, access the Dashboard, start Home Assistant, configure OpenClaw/Hermes, manage token usage, and sync devices between HomeClaw, the LinknLink App, and Home Assistant.

Setup and Login

  • Power on the device using the power supply included in the package. Connect the device to your router using an Ethernet cable. If it is not convenient to connect the device via Ethernet at its location, you may configure it to connect to the router via Wi-Fi instead. Follow the steps below:
    1. On your computer or mobile phone, open the Wi-Fi list and connect to the device access point named HomeClaw-AP-XXXX. The XXXX part is the device MAC address shown on the bottom of the device. The default password is admin123.
    2. A Wi-Fi Setup configuration page should pop up on your computer or mobile phone. If it does not appear, manually visit the following address in your browser: 10.42.0.1/ap
  • On the Wi-Fi Setup page, select the network you want to connect to, enter the password, and select Connect.
NOTE: You can disable the AP on WiFi Setup page if you are using Ethernet connection for enhanced security.

Accessing HomeClaw

  • After HomeClaw is connected to the network, visit homeclaw.local from your computer or mobile phone to open the Dashboard directly.
  • Some routers may not support local domain resolution. In that case, log in to your router admin page, find the device IP address, and access HomeClaw by IP.
  • You can also connect HomeClaw to a monitor or TV by HDMI. The local network IP address will be shown on the screen.HomeClaw Dashboard after network connection.

Using Home Assistant

  • Open Home Assistant from the Dashboard, or visit IP:8123 or homeclaw.local:8123.
  • The first time you open Home Assistant, it will guide you through the initial setup process.
  • HomeClaw comes with HACS pre-installed. Add integrations under Devices & Services.
  • Open the Add-on Store through Add-ons in the Home Assistant menu, or through HA Add-ons on the Dashboard. From there, you can easily install many third-party services. Some commonly used services are already pre-installed.Home Assistant Add-on Store on HomeClaw.

Using OpenClaw/Hermes

  • Open the OpenClaw or Hermes Gateway interface from the Dashboard to start chatting with the Agent.
  • HomeClaw includes a certain amount of built-in tokens for trial use. To use them, log in to your LinknLink account on the Dashboard.
  • In the OpenClaw or Hermes Gateway interface, go to Settings > Messaging, select the messaging platform you want to configure, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • You can also configure your own API key under Settings > Model Provider.OpenClaw and Hermes messaging settings on HomeClaw.

Service Usage and Top-Up

  • Click Usage on the Dashboard to view your token usage. This applies only to purchases and subscriptions made through LinknLink.
  • Click Top Up to recharge your token balance or subscribe to a plan.

Others

System Access

HomeClaw provides full operating system access. Advanced users can access the system via SSH. The default login is HomeClaw / linknlink123. You can change the system password in Settings > SSH on the Dashboard.

Syncing from App to HomeClaw

You can download the latest LinknLink App from the App Store or Google Play. Log in with the same account on both HomeClaw and the mobile app, and devices will automatically sync between the two.

In the LinknLink App, go to Profile > Third-party service to add products from other brands. The added products will be automatically synced to HomeClaw’s PY2MQTT service. This enables remote access to these third-party products from the app, as well as integration with smart speakers. If you have already configured an MQTT Broker in Home Assistant, these third-party devices will also be automatically synced to Home Assistant via MQTT. HomeClaw comes with the Mosquitto service pre-installed.

Syncing Devices from App to HomeClaw

Download the latest LinknLink App from the App Store or Google Play. Log in to HomeClaw and the app with the same account, and ensure both devices are on the same network. In the app, go to Profile > Third-party Service. HomeClaw will be detected automatically. If not, tap HomeClaw and enter its IP address manually. Then return to Third-party.LinknLink App device sync to HomeClaw.

Added devices will sync automatically to HomeClaw and can be viewed in the PY2MQTT service. To enable free remote access in the app, go to Profile > Settings > LinknLink Remote, enable the service, and select your HomeClaw device.

Syncing Devices from App to Home Assistant

Set up an MQTT broker, such as Mosquitto, in Home Assistant.

In HomeClaw, open PY2MQTT and configure Settings > MQTT Broker. Devices added to PY2MQTT will sync automatically to Home Assistant.
