📄 Infrared (IR)
How to Send Multiple IR Commands with Delays?
Smart IR remotes, such as the LinknLink eRemote or eHub, can assist with app or voice control. But how can an IR remote handle setups that require multiple IR operations to be performed sequentially with controllable intervals?
For instance, if you want to switch your input to HDMI2, you might need to:
Turn ON the TV (15s) Press Up (2s) Press OK (2s) Press Right (2s) Press OK (2s) to select HDMI2 as the input
Here is a simple and effective way to set this up:
1/ In LinknLink App, add a "General Scene" 2/ Add actions 3/ Click the "Timer" icon next to each action to set delay
You can refer to the Tutorial Video for a better understanding:
Add IR device to eRemote
1. Add with Auto-Matching
Click the "+" icon in the top-right corner and select an appliance type (e.g., TV).
- To control your lR device using both the app and HA, select "Add for HA". Follow the wizard to select the brand, test the lR options, and save your settings. You can then controlthe device from your phone
- Add with Manual-Learning If no lR options match the selected brand, click "Learn Remote Now" tocreate a blank template. Assign a room and rename the device to continue, then click "Use DeviceNoW". Click the grey buttons and follow the wizard to manually learn the lR codeusing your physical remote.
SYNC IR device to HA
1. Configure MQTT for HA
Return to the eRemote HA device page. Click the ".." icon in the top-right corner, then select "MQTT Connection."
- Enter the required information based on your MQTT server settings and click "Save"Reopen "MQTT Connection" to verify that the status shows "Connected".
3. Control IR device in HA
Once MQTT is connected, the added lR device will automatically appear in your HA, with theavailable buttons synced and ready for use. You can now use the IR device in HA for complete local automations.
Alexa / Google Voice Control
- If you're already logged into the Alexa or Google Home APP, you can now directly link to the LinknLink skill.
- On the App homepage, click on the "+" in the top right corner and select "Add Voice Assistant". Select "Alexa" or "Google Home", then click "Link Now".

📄 BLE sensor: modbus - HA
1. Update firmware of eRemote Go to the device page, click on the "..." menu > "Settings" > "Firmware Update" > "URL", then paste the following URL: http://eufirmware.linklinkiot.com/firmware/eRemote-60868-8720-BL-3330.upd.bin
2. Configure configuration.yaml File in Home Assistant
-
Step 1: Configure the Main Modbus Integration
Find eRemote IP in eRemote App page, select top right ..., choose modbus, then you can see the IP of eRemote, you need to provide the IP address and port of your eRemote:
modbus: - name: "modbus_tcp" type: tcp host: 192.168.1.100 # Replace with your eRemote's IP address port: 502 # Default port for Modbus TCP -
Step 2: Configure SensorsUnder the
modbusintegration, define the sensors you wish to read. Each sensor needs to specify the register address, input type (e.g.,holdingorinput), data type (e.g.,int16,uint16, etc.), and optional settings such as unit of measurement, precision, and scale. Here’s tabel configuration for multiple sensors excel download url: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VPKUUr-IxFr8NOj_vTzm4ZTsAf2Hla2T/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=117827812234970938974&rtpof=true&sd=true - Here's an example configuration for multiple sensors:
3. Restart Home Assistant
After configuring the Modbus integration, save the configuration.yaml file and restart Home Assistant.
4. Use Sensor Data
Once the sensors are successfully reading data, you can use them for various purposes in Home Assistant, such as:
- Displaying the data on a dashboard (Lovelace).
- Triggering automations based on sensor values (e.g., turning on a fan if the temperature exceeds a certain value).
6. FAQ
Why My RF Device Can't be Controlled?
The incompatibility with your RF device is likely due to its use of rolling code.
Rolling codes (also called hopping codes) are commonly used in radio frequency (RF) control systems, especially those requiring strict access control or enhanced privacy.
How it works:
- Your remote sends a digital message to the receiver.
- If the receiver finds the code in the message acceptable, it triggers an action (e.g., actuates a relay, unlocks a door).
- Simple remotes use fixed codes that remain unchanged, meaning the same code that opens your gate today will work tomorrow. This makes them vulnerable to attackers who could intercept and use the code later.
- More secure systems employ rolling codes that change with every use. While an attacker might capture the current code, it won't work for future attempts.
Rolling codes employ encryption methods allowing the remote and receiver to share codes while making it difficult for someone to crack the encryption. This technology is also used in some curtain/blind/shade motors for increased privacy.
Therefore, even if the eRemote successfully learns the RF code, it cannot control your device. This is not a flaw in LinknLink technology, but rather the intended functionality of rolling codes, designed to prioritize security and privacy.
Here are known brands using rolling codes and incompatible with LinknLink:
If you encounter other incompatible brands, please report them to us. We will verify with the manufacturer and mark them as "incompatible" if confirmed.
